It's Official...

We're in the race.

Tartan Racing was the first team to qualify for the Urban Challenge final event. DARPA officials, who earlier excused Boss from any further qualifying runs, told the team early this afternoon that Boss is in the race. By 3 p.m., four other teams -- Cornell, Virginia Tech's Victor Tango team, the University of Pennsylvania's Ben Franklin Racing Team and Stanford -- also had made the race.

The word was not so good for six other teams. Georgia Tech/SAIC Sting Racing, Team Berlin, University of Utah, Princeton, SciAutonics/Auburn Engineering and an Indiana team called Ody-Era were all scratched today by DARPA.
