To takari freak world 2 more of a final fantasy like 1-8 game style crossed with I think the series was called advance wars. Your in a tank that goes and certain distance until you clear the area our exit it our you run out of gas. Then when you touch a digmon it cuts to what evr digmon you have fighting the other ones.

There  is a digmon world 4 it was a gamecube release so its been out for quite a while.

I never played enough of this game to know if it was actually any good but I really regret not playing more of it. Not really sure why I didn't, unlike when I played (and never finished) the original Digimon World I was actually old enough to speak when this one came out. xD
