Patrick Ewing made a great speech about his playing days as a Knick. He gave credit to the other players and his former coaches for making it possible for him to be successful not only as a player, but as a person. He will always be a New Yorker and a New York Knick in his heart.

Finally, his jersey got raised to the rafters, which was an emotional moment.

Had The Knicks won a championship in the 90's I have no doubt both Starks's and Oakley's number would be retired too.

i use to roll the ball like big pat whenever i got to the foul line..i wasnt ever a knicks fan....but i respected the knicks and especially pat ewing...back then basketball meant so much more than it does today..about 2002 i checked out..the leaugue isnt the same without..the shaq...zo...mutombo...robinson­...ewing...alajuwon battles..they kill the big men of today..remember when the average center was great like rik smits. duckworth..parrish was great for 20 years...who is there now.2 guys?
