Scott Landing at a High Elevation Airport, 6,752' Elevation. The Density Altitude was 8,500'. Take off was not a problem, and we had about 400'/min, about 23 gallons of fuel on board, and just two of us. We had lunch at the cafe, so our total passenger weight was 390# for the 2 of us, plus our flight bags. The Archer, with its 180 Hp engine, did an adequate job. Realistically, at that density altitude, the true Hp is less than 55%, or about 100 Hp or less.

  • Good video. Be aware of the density altitude when flying into Big Bear, also the tall trees on final. Keep that fuel mixture lean.

  • give me a break, if this was a 757 then yes, he still has 80 feet of plane behind him but in this plane I agree with him announcing he is clear because you dont know if there was someone RIGHT behind him. I think its a bigger hazard if you cause that guy that behind you to go around because you thought you were flying a boeing jet. your the type of guy who tunes in to the tower frequency 50 miles out when your still with approach hu..

  • Excellent landing

  • If I can just make one commment: wait to report "clear of runway 26" until after you have passed the yellow runway holding position marking. It was in front of you (at 2:00) when you reported clear of runway 26. You're technically still on the runway, and pose a potential hazard to landing aircraft. Nice approach and great touchdown =) I enjoyed your video

  • Really cool its been a long time since I was last there.

  • Lovely landing!

  • Nice job, looks like my video made months earlier. \it is a great place to fly to.
