is all the footage on 17mm=(27mm on 7D) ? am looking for an L wide angle for my 7D. do you recomend? i need it for landscapes now am stuck with my 24-70 and its limiting me on focal length...

@ANTRASPS3 If you want to go really wide on 7D you must go for Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM I had this lens for a couple of years on my 40D for landscape and it is extremely sharp ;)

why are people saying this lens is garbage on non full frame sensor cameras like the 7d? they say you can buy the 18-55 kit lens and you will get same quality? wtf?

I wonder if the panavision cameras have an internal stereo mic too? The camera is for recording IMAGES and VIDEO. Use an audio recorder for AUDIO. If you're expecting great audio from a CAMERA, you probably shouldn't be posting comments here.

Okay dumb question probably.. But the EF 17-40 f4 L.. Does that mean f1.4? Or f4.0 ? I'm confused..

@rubent100 3 words: glass, glass....GLASS its all about the optics and L series is where canon put its all strength to give quality lenses.
