There was a time in American history when the wealthiest Americans did their part to support our government and our country by simply paying taxes. Today however, they pay almost nothing in taxes, and they are the ones who are actually lending money to our federal government. As a result, they now own as much as 40% of our country's national debt. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. talks about how this happened, and why nobody noticed, with Robert Reich, former secretary of labor under president Bill Clinton, and Professor of Public Policy at the University of California at Berkeley.

  • @wistoncap And what are you? An elitest or a bum?

  • Hard times in the U.S.? Try living here in Canada were taxed to fucking death! We can say the same here "What middle class"

  • It is sad as I have seen this happen for the last 30 years. It is a double edged sword as there are millions of good people who will fall by the wayside while millions of other dumba**es will get ahead in our new society that values money, sex and materialism above all things.

Who knows how it will end up. I suspect not good as the red bull zombie crowd with the shot nervous systems, due to the chemicals they cheerfully consume, will be the ones to take the whole place down while the rich flee.

  • @wistoncap all top 1% have ever been are a bunch of pigs hell bent on consuming the entire world like voracious swine, nothing good ever came from that bunch of scum, and it is no wonder either as busy as they always are buying whatever useless politician. fuck the top 1%.
