@koln1996 I think what I was trying to say is that great actors 'appear' to say their lines in a natural every day manner, rather than say Bette Davis did (although she is also one of my favourites, of which Meryl is also a fan). That stage acting 'dramatic' way has mostly died out because of the different methods adopted by actors.

I'm a Meryl fan too, but she's anything but "natural"!!!
She's a very technical, cerebral actress!!!

Meryl Streep stood out so much even then, because of her natural way of acting compared to all the other actresses.
