This is a classic. Here we see the main difference between Justine and Serena, Justine fought and didn't let those bad calls against her affect her play whereas Serena got caught up in the moment.

I remember watching this, matches like this made me a huge fan of tennis. Capriati would have won the tournament if she beat Henin. Henin was coming into her dominance during this year though. Awesome match, awesome tennis.

I used to be a huge Capriati fan but her behavior on the court after winning her first Slam really turned me off... total diva attitude and always questioning calls.

Why did Capriati play so defensively ? I dont get it, she had good groundstrokes (on eof the best forehands) and surely she could have won more easily by playing aggresively ?

Capriati influenced the judge with her overacting and she wasn't even right. That's bad sportmanship, she knew those balls were in and she knew Henin was playing much better, so she started to pull some nasty tricks to get Henin out of her rythm.

@kljMN2 Best player? Serena. Better year? Justine. She won the same amount of slams as Serena but I believe she won more Tier 1 titles. However, I think it's pretty obvious that had it not been for that season ending injury, Serena would have won the US Open.
