American Choreographer and developer of the McLeod Technique- Sean McLeod, resisted for nearly 18 years the concept of identifying and accepting a Dance Technique named after himself. Using years of emotional and movement studies like this "Movement Integration Exercise" Sean created in classes to teach dancers to reach the understanding and application principals of the classic Modern techniques of Dunham, Graham, Limon, Cunningham and Horton as proof, students and colleagues were able to finally have Sean embrace the reality that his contribution was greater than what he feared was ego stroking.
