In today's media world, Wilkie climbing over that fence while they are talking about "Hyde Park" would definitely have been seen as a shot at Roosevelt's disability. Interesting to think if that was intentional at the time.

Wow - McNary might be the most obscure Veep nominee ever! I'm way into this stuff and I can't say I remembered his name before seeing this clip. Thanks for the cool history. (Btw, love the shout out to New Jersey agriculture in the clip)

He is buried in Rushville Indiana. His grave has page of his book, One World for everyone to read. He was not a conservative and would have been a great president.
