The 1973 Public Service Announcement for forest fire prevention featuring everyone's favorite protector of forests Smokey the Bear and actress Joanna Cassidy. Joanna tells us to be extra careful so as not to start forest fires and then proceeds to peel off her head like a mask to reveal a laughing Smokey the Bear underneath. "If you knew it was me would you have listened ?", Smokey asks. This is probably as creepy as the scene in Westworld where the Android's face is revealed. Guaranteed sleepless nights for small children. A well done announcement that we won't forget in a hurry.

70s television was full of guilt/fear wrenching ads and scary TV logos!

If the Jewish Chautauqua Society wasn't scaring you with a cartoon about Hate, then the AdCouncil made you feel afraid of Smokey and guilty over throwing trash at Italians dressed as Native Americans. And then before beddybye, some scary Screen Gems logo would finish you off! And then for more doses of hallucinogenic programing there was that magic mirror bit on Romper Room! lol

@Quanzakari Wrong. It's not natural when that happen too much, which is what is happening. People are causing them. It's okay for a natural one, but 9 out of 10 forest fires are caused by humans. I think the campaign did their research before stating.
