So, we went skydiving, and they had some special loads that would go extra high. Usually we jump at 12000 feet, but this one went all the way to 21000 feet. But something appeared to be wrong with the oxygen system in the cabin, or something other happened why we didn't got enough oxygen. Anyway, I passed out, my friend woke up at 12000 feet falling to the earth, after he unknowingly jumped out. Neither of us can remember the jump, but we got it on video.

I made a jump the same day, about an hour after this event, but we both got pounding headaches afterwards, so we left the dropzone to rest and have a better day the next day.

Also, I've always doubted about posting this, since I really don't want this to be used to 'blame' anyone for doing something wrong, but rather be seen as a lesson to others about the effects as to prevent further similar incidents.

Anyway, I'm sticking to 15k now... having way too much fun with 8-way RW.

  • And I get grounded for doing a low turn....!!!!

  • @cannywf1

You got grounded for a low turn because you controlled that turn, these people are hypoxic have no idea what they are doing...

and rest assured... we where grounded for the rest of the day, not by the DZ, but by nature... Hypoxia leads to pretty severe headaches, and we were done for the day after this.

  • Friends don't let friends jump hypoxic.

  • @taods

Friends who are hypoxic themselves have no idea they let their friends jump hypoxic.

  • @LCPStud Usually the DZO is not the one to fill up the O2 bottle (unless you are from a armature DZ). That plus your ignorance on peoples (or your own) mental state indicate that you never been hypoxic. The DZ was one of the best in the world and not my home DZ so I don't care if you believe me. I took a look at your channel also and there are no skydiving videos... I have never seen this for a camera guy which leads me to believe you are just a guy that lies on the internet. Have a good day.

  • WTF THE GUY COULDN'T EVEN STAND UP AND HE JUST PUSHED HIM OUT OF THE PLANE! ARE YOU SERIOUS? the person who pushed him out should be banned from skydiving. what an idiot

  • wow i read the description that has to be fucking scary waking up 12k feet falling

  • Another reason why AAD's are the greatest invention ever.

  • @tvandijck I just thought about a leash attached to every diver that wouldn't allow them to even approach the exit if you couldn't complete 5 simple tests. People wouldn't be able to tamper with it if they're hypoxic and if they managed to release it, well they would probably be able to handle the jump safely too. It could be automatically released in case of an emergency. Aren't there such systems implemented already?

  • that might be the most frightening thing I've ever seen....so wrong in every way...

  • 3:28 Yeah, just kick him the fuck out! OMFG!

  • @tvandijck Those people are hypoxic because they're stupid and, just like making the conscious decision to do a low turn, these idiots made the decision to spend more than a safe amount of time above 13,000 feet. Morons...all of them.

  • Hell of a thing to wake up to.

  • @aprepo

Wow! You worked out the definition. The PIC was hopefully on O2. Are you seriously telling me that the effects were not obvious enough to make a safe decision. Nothing safe occured here, just luck.

I might know nothing, but I started jumping in 89 and have been flying since 91, Fixed wing, rotary, bush, low-level, airlines, charter, teaching. Please, tell me what I'm missing.

    Clowns is an understatement.

  • @goose27 Yes. That is what hypoxia means. It makes you stupid. Problem with oxygen starvation is that the higher brain functions go first and you really don't know you are suffering from hypoxia. Calling them clowns tells me you don't know what you are talking about. It was really good to see this video published, maybe on some other flight ppl may realize that they are not getting enough oxygen. But even with proper training it is really really hard to know when it is actually happening.
