Splash Mountain Breakdown 09-10-2005

Splash Mountain at Disneyland, CA was going great... and then, the terrifying logjam appeared ahead. We expected to wait for a long time and then just have the ride start again, as always has happened in the past (at least for me).

And then, the evacuation began! It was really exciting. We got to walk through the entire last sequence of the attraction, and saw a bunch of the backstage area. Hanging out with the animatronics while they moved with no sound was really cool, too. Those critters look just as awesome and detailed up close as they do from a distance!

The crowning reward was the great picture that I got with Brer Rabbit at the end of the ride. How cool is that?

i got stuck once on here and my sister had a broken leg, it was funny they said cast member will be with you shortly im like YES!!! then their like never mind ride will start now. im like crap i wanted to go backstage!

@softballfreako Yes, I think so, too! So many people complain about getting evacuated from attractions, but on the big ones like Splash Mountain, Pirates, etc, it's a whole new adventure! :-)

I was stuck in the exact same part of the ride for 1 hour! Only it was the WDW ride.

The Disney cast members are always so nice about breakdowns, at least every time I've been there on a breakdown. (:

@TheToontownprincess Heya, sorry you didn't get to do the backstage thing. A lot of people never get to do it, so I posted this special experience for everyone.
