A very rare offering from the very rare (on CD) album, Live At Last. The CD cost me close to £30, and this is a real highlight. It's pretty long, but I have cut the silence at the beginning of the track and the applause at the end to take it down to 15 minutes. I hope you enjoy it.
it is a big ask ...and you have done some much....more than we should expect....could you please post the lyrics????

Another great book on the events covered in Montrose is "Alasdair MacColla and the Highland Problem in the 17th Century" written by David Stevenson which argues that the victories were essentially due to the Irish troops

@mrmanly08 Wow! Is it published/available anywhere?

@nacho1560 Very true! I'm amazed not more is made of his achievements! There is a Montrose Society I believe

@millstreet11 The Irish contingent led by Alasdair MacColla was crucial to Montrose's success!

Recommend the biography of Montrose by John Buchan! I picked it up in a 2nd hand bookshop in Arundel, West Sussex for £7!! His campaign in the Highlands 1644-5 is surely one of the most amazing in military history....
