Shame that this version is so scratchy and poorly mic 'ed. Yo-Yo Ma's tone is so much more smooth and brilliant and refined than what is represented here.

I don't like the piece personally, it only has one colour.
The cello suites by Bach are of a different league :)

It almost sounds medieval, or renaissance music. In fact it would sound far better on a viola de gamba, methinks!
