  • This voice sounds very fake, and her acting too

  • @bascas715 Her "breathy" voice was actually her fake voice.

  • In "The Audrey Hepburn Story", Truman Capote complains that Audrey doesn't know how to eat in the opening scene of Breakfast at Tiffany's. Then he remarks "Marilyn Monroe is who I wanted. Marilyn knows how to eat."

This scene makes me think of what Marilyn would have looked like if she were cast in Breakfast at Tiffany's.

  • As much as I love Audrey, I too wonder how Marilyn would have played Holly in Breakfast at Tiffany's.

  • Good to see MM as a feisty character, instead of the usual dumb blonde.

  • that was so refreshing. so good to see. she's usually acted as a vulnerable, ditzy blond, so i loved to see her like this! i wish she would have done more serious roles as well. she wanted to but fox never let her.

  • Gorgeous!

  • I like her small rolls like this as opossed to her big time ones. She seems more interesting in them.

  • I believe this is Marilyn's real voice and not her "Monroe" breathy baby voice

  • Thanks for posting this! I agree that this is a great role for Monroe. This shows her mettle and capacity for playing stronger roles that, sadly, was never fully explored. Just a quick comment re Stanwyck & Monroe - I haven't read anywhere that Stanwyck was rude to Monroe; just the opposite (see TCM's article about the movie). I'd be interested to know where the info originates from... Not that Stanwyck wasn't human/had no faults, but I do adore her.

  • by special.... messenger!!!

  • stanwyck was so mean to marilyn on the set. ironic to see her "performance" against marilyn's subtle and modern one. she was the only one who studied hard and was doing what only brando, clift and dean were doing on screen at the time.

  • so cute :')

  • Stitchgrl777:

Maybe the fact that Audrey personally HATED HATED HATED Danish pastries was to blame... :)
