  • Translation: oh brother, oh brother we would fill the world with light but only if we were like them a thousand times: oh brother we would grab the sun from the lion's den and give it to kids as candy to print it on clothes and notebooks to make it flowers in the hair of girls to make it a necklace against the evil of envy that would lighten, when it lights, every alley and a every suburb but oh, if only we were like them, a thousand times: oh brother
  • if we would attack with those who are oppressed without fear

if we had Khomeini as our uncle (one of us)

and if we had the opposition as one hand

we would kick our shah and his americans with our boots

and started the revolution from the widest road

how many 18 January revolutions in the streets are still alive

but oh, if only we were like them,

    a thousand times: oh brother!
