  • Sweet angle, i was riding daytona about a month after the freeride and used my helmet cam on my helmet tethered with some fishing line incase it got knocked off. may still tie off the suction mount to something if i go that route. Also what the hell is with go pro, the sun and the black hole in the sun I got the same thing on all my footage looking behind me

  • Ya the black dot on the sun (and some spots of glare) is kind of annoying. It has something to do with the camera's sensor not knowing how to process that certain light wavelength, so it just fills it in with black. (If GoPro were to use a higher-quality sensor, I'm sure the cameras would be substantially pricier)

We recently lost a GoPro while riding up in Pismo Beach.

Since then, we'd really recommend using either the sticky mount or fixing a tether of sorts to the suction cup mount!

  • what video mounting did you use? i just got the camera today and trying to figure it out how to mount it on my jetski.

    thanks,Peter

  • i didn't personally set it up for Taylor, but I "think" they used the sticky mount.

I've used the sticky mount on my helmet before and have never had a problem with it coming loose.

Also, we at PWI have successfully used the suction cup arm on some of our ocean rides, so either way will work. But, I'd still say that the sticky mount will be the most reliable, most stable, and it's VERY easy to snap the camera in and out of it.

Good luck, and have fun with that GoPro!!

  • Dude, this vid is SWEET! That barrel roll near the end is awesome. Thanks PWI!

  • Haha thanks Duffman! We hope to get more of these quick videos up as often as possible!

  • That was sick at 1:14!

  • Taylor Curtis is the sickest Freerider on the planet....I cant forget Ross Champion and Mark Gomez....

  • Sweet video!

How is the camera mounted? Using suction cup, 3M tape or other way? I've got one too and would like to use the suction cup mount on my Sea-Doo RXP-X but don't want to risk having it fall of from the force of the water or the multiple bumps from waves.

  • Liquid Militia guys told me to put Hydro-Turf on my GoPro. It'll float and you won't have to worry about stringing it up all ridiculous. They also said don't use black, pick something light in color.

  • Minca stupendo... stupendi una bira mi fianta!!!!!;-))) uhaaaaaaaa grande!!!!! go pro da comprare....

  • ya i had i think 18lb fishing line tied around my helmet vents to the housing itself...i'll prolly rig up something to the housing for a sticky mount or right to the entire suction mount to my limiting rope or something. I dont wanna have to snorkel for my go pro, but that might be fun too haha
