On December 26, 2007, this court found Brian Popovich to be in contempt of this Court's child support order. In order to purge his contempt and avoid serving ten days in jail, the defendant was ordered to pay $277.01 per month for four months. At his initial purge hearing, Mr. Popovich had paid 76% of his four month obligation. The Court granted Mr. Popovich three additional months to comply further. By the June 27, 2008 purge hearing, Mr. Popovich's compliance fell to 43%, according to Assistant Prosecutor Lisa Mahnic. The Court found that Mr. Popovich had not purged his contempt and ordered him to serve ten consecutive days in the county jail.
