Humans & the Beach: and Earth Day Love Story

This was our smallest beach clean up ever....just 15 of us. Even still it was tons of fun. However, this time we noticed that of what we cleaned up, 95% was plastic. And of that plastic, 95% of it was little broken bits of stuff we use every day: toothbrushes, pens, straws etc. What we picked up the most: caps to water/soda/milk bottles. All these tiny bits were mixed into the beach wrack. We had to dig through layers and layers of nature entwined with garbage. Yuk....we started to picture the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.
