I think the video is kind of follow-able, but in the beginning it's Sora's reminiscence from when he'd found out he loved Kairi (shown in black&white). The color scenes show the present, or their reunion.
When Kairi's surprised, just pretend she's asking if it's actually Sora, so that when Sora nods, it makes sense... ;)
