Nice comparison video. Now I understand the reason why gaming on my LCD makes everything blur when I run in-game. (the ghosting you describe)
I know that the 2312HM has a very low input lag, but as you state, that is something different from the ghosting/motion blur.
Do you know of a proper LCD that suffers less from ghosting?

Deck 16! Loved that map.

if you look at the color saturation, there is no comparing the two, it looks like there is more to see on a crt the detail the color variation, made even more evident in darker areas. my 5 year g225f by veiwsonic is just amazing to game on.

Typical LED flicker, be careful!

@GholaTlx I think you can adjust the amount of overdrive on U2312HM as you can on U2412M to balance the overshoot and ghosting as you like it.

Yes I read their review but thanks. It has some overshoot (ghosting) when the overdive is ON, like lots of other monitors. The Asus ML239H seems to do better with the Overdrive but it lack a DVI connector(that's fishy for me, I say any monitor than doen't have a DVI or a DisplayPort instead is a low end monitor no matter how the reviews favout it). The Dell U2311H is one I would want, but it's not for sale anywhere anymore :(

@GholaTlx check out Dell U2312HM, it has pretty much no input lag at all (0.6ms, according to tftcentral co uk /reviews/content/dell_u2312hm.
htm#input_lag ).
Great video, I am going to buy this DELL for a friend who is buying his first gaming PC. We all know buying your first gaming pc is a very special thing and I want everything to be perfect. This video convinced me there is very little ghosting.
I did notice some frame tearing though? but I guess vsync is turned off?

@ZakariaIbnMoustapha Thanks, and you are right, vsync is off. Btw I'd recommend Dell U2312HM instead due to its extremely low input lag (and it's cheaper too), while ghosting seems the same, check the review at TFTCentral. Altho I haven't tried it my self, I think it would be a better screen, especially for gaming. The only advantage that U2412M has is the slightly higher vertical resolution (as I can see from the reviews).

interesting...but i prefer a the newer monitor...at least you can see your oponent in the shadows :P

@kamikazeOS the game brightness settings are adjustable, they were not set to be optimal for the CRT. With higher brightness you can see everything in the shadows on the CRT. I'm not saying that CRT is better overall, just stating some things I noticed while switching to my new monitor.
