Take a look into the Taiwanese American Citizens League's Leadership Identity Development Camp based in southern California, which took place at UCLA from August 5-8, 2010.
TACL's LID camp has a storied past. It began in the 1980's as a way for 1st generation to connect with 2nd generation Taiwanese Americans. It was recently revived in 2009 by a core group of college counselors who wanted to instill a sense of leadership, identity, and community for its youth participants. This year's theme, "Progress," reflects the growth of this exciting and spirited organization.
The Taiwanese American Citizens League is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the life of Taiwanese Americans in the US. TACL was founded in 1985 by a group of 1st generation Taiwanese who shared a passion for Taiwan and wished to help develop the next generation. Among the various programs we have to offer are college scholarship funds, political, journalism, and entertainment internships, networking opportunities for young Taiwanese Americans through TAP, and our LID and LYF Summer Camps.
