For all those people saying Yamazaki is stupid, your wrong. He realizes he has no chance with Nanako and so he must break up with her. He decides that it would be best to not tell her that he is leaving and instead decides to show her his secret that people gossip about him and that she, herself may want to know. When she responds that she likes him after being shown all his stuff, he realizes that the plan has backfired and so he decides to call her crazy. The recording is a memory for him.
