It's fake because they already knew which exact song she would pick.. I mean there's quite a few songs out there, and i doubt they have every single one on the Play button.
But still the scenario is quite touching and well played.

The reason I tune in to X Factor is majorly because I want to see the talent, and Cheryl Cole! That girl has a great compassion for people! Simon made a great judgment bringing her on the show! Simon seems to only care about making money off the contestants and selling records but Cheryl seems to genuinely care about each contestant and getting to know them. She's always trying to cheer them up =)
