@Nephlyte348 And later in the series we seen Reuenthal fight against Schenkopp and Reuenthal doesn't have an armored suit. In an OVA prequel even Kircheis has a clash with Schenkopp. These men are the best at close combat in the series, I think I can say that seeing as they all survive each other in their encounters.

thousands of years into the future and they still slash people with rusty axes

That base looks like a chicken drumstick...

@QtubAyback Or maby they asked team rocket to help, they seem to be experts with pit making.
-
this has to be one of the funniest parts in the entire series
-
That would suck because Ovlesser is a big idiot while Schenkopp actually is an intelligent and capable commander AND combatatn, the only reason Ovlesser has the position he has is cuz hes a big brute who was "born to beat people" as Reuental points out prior to the this battle.

Too bad it aint chainswords

I've seen plenty of LoGH cosplay of varying quality before, but most of it is of the Imperial admirals from the manga. As for Panzergrenadier (the armored soldiers), I would love to see a good cosplay of them. There are some good cosplay done for those Panzer soldiers from that "Wolf Brigade" anime so I think LoGH armored soldiers could be pulled off with some effort (I'd especially like to see what they'd do for the battle axes and tomahawks >______>).

Ya, i knew tat.
BTW, was there ever been a cosplay of these armoured troopers of both faction ever made appearence in watever kind of convensions? It does't hav 2 b recently, perhaps at the peak of the anime's popularity. It would b nice 2 c them in cosplay instead of seeing strom/clone troopers cosplay all the time.

One of the many differences between LoGH and SW is that SW was intended for children.
What I wonder is how they dug the pit without being seen.

I guess the only way they could have done that would be to dig the pit (very quietly) behind the part of the corridor they were holding, and then lure Ovelesser to their battle line... if a few men dug the pit while the rest charged and distracted the enemy, it would probably go unnoticed...
I guess I never really thought about it... XD

How awesome would it have been if Ovlesser was somehow convinced to defect and join the Lohengramm fleet? Imagine him as a recurring character... now imagine an axe-showdown between Ovlesser and Schenkopp.

Dude... I just giggled, I think! XD Oh, that would have been amazing... 6th Gang vs Rosen Ritter... I don't think I could handle that kind of awesome-ness...

What I never fully understood is how they navigated that troop ship past the enemy lines and managed not to get shot before reaching the blind spot... oh well, it hardly matters, this episode rules :).

I wondered that too... when the gunnery officer screams "They're allies, don't fire!", I wasn't sure if it was due to the confusion of the civil war, or if it was due to a plan of deception... probably it was a little bit of both, though :)
This episode is amazing though, I put it up here so I could link it around forums and generate some fandom. I mean, what could be more win than spaceships and greataxes?
