This is a 10/27/99 Promise Ring playing "Why Did We Ever Meet?", "Forget Me" (starts at 3:45) and "Red and Blue Jeans" (7:28) at Mary Jane's in Houston. The opening act Burning Airlines clip is also on Youtube. The Promise Ring were one of the best live bands of the 90's and included David Von Bohlen, Jason Gnewikow, Dan Didier and Scott Schoenbeck. The band gives an amazing performance under horrible conditions. The club was insanely hot and crowded. They waited 2 hours until everybody was soaking wet before turning on the air conditioning full blast. You can see that guitarist Jason Gnewikow seems on the verge of passing out throughout much of the show, but never misses a note.

    man i miss these guys.

  • Did you get sick too? The way the club didn't turn on the air until everybody was soaking wet and then hit it full blast made me ill for months.

  • @chasspeed haha oh nooo. months?? i laughed but i know its not funny.

  • @kkasabian I really did have a fever for 2 months and never went to the doctor. I finally woke up one morning soaking wet and it was finally over.

  • I'd probably kill myself if I ever saw The Promise Ring live.

  • I'm trying to figure out what he says on the chorus...

"Nothing feels good like yeah/you...like you! did you ever really liked me like I did. Like you! did you ever really liked me like a did...wooh...ohhh..."
