Yeah, my mom wasn't too happy about how it turned out, but I liked it.
We've almost always made a cake for our birthdays, not just out of cost reduction, but for taste too. For some reason, the frosting on the premade cakes at Wal-Mart and other places tastes funny.
Also, double-layered cakes are overkill for me, especially if you see how chocolaty my birthday cakes are!
