I created a little screencast (a little Camtasia Studio training for myself hehe) to illustrate how the Cross-Fade feature of Adobe Premiere works, what I like about it and what I miss. Then how I completely fail in accomplishing the same task in the free windows audio editing tool Audacity to provide some inspiration for the folks over at Audacity who currently discuss the details for a good working Cross-Fade feature in Audacity.
The ScreenCast can be watched in 1024x768 resolution at my website at http://www.cumbrowski.com/lp/audacitycrossfade.asp
There you can also find download links for the video version of the cast in .AVI, .WMV and .MOV format and links to the discussions at the Audacity developer comunity to the subject and of course links to the download pages for the tool itself.
The screencast demonstrates nicely where the use of screen recordings can be very helpful... such as the demonstration of a process ia an application with graphical interface. There are plenty of other good uses for this as well.
