Labour MP for Salford and Eccles Hazel Blear has today endorsed the Save EMA campaign stating that the difference it has made for her constituents and those in the north west where just under 100,000 teenagers risk losing their EMA as a result of the Coalition Government's plans to abolish EMA.

This government is very anti-youth, as the rise in tuition fees and cutting of EMA will severely disadvantage young people from succeeding. Yet, winter fuel allowance is still being paid to elderly people who are too wealthy to need it. If the government wishes to cut a service that is beneficial to young people in one hand, in another they need to also reduce unnecessary non-means tested financial assistance for the old. The Coalition is fast creating a divide between young and old in the UK.
