At a recent track day at Eastern Creek, a few of us decided to "freshen up" our mate's plain red Ducati 1098S. The results? Beee yooot eee full!

  • No, just standard black paint.

  • i mean the part of the tank to the left were it in dents.

  • No, that's a Stompgrip. It sticks on to the tank, giving you something to grip on to with your knees when cornering.

  • what sort of tape did u use? want to try it on my 1198s

  • Just a combination of gaffer tape (coloured) and auto pin stripe tape. Looks fantastic from a distance, and not that bad up close.

  • Honestly, I don't know. Given that we did this on the spur of the moment in the pits on track day, I'd suspect not long.

    However, the guy with the black Ducati had done his at home, and I didn't see any evidence of it coming off. Perhaps if you wipe it down with alcohol first, to ensure it has a good bonding surface, you'd have good results.
