There was not another verified intrusion incident of this kind in the United States until February 1, 2009, when Comcast customers in Tucson, Arizona, had Super Bowl XLIII interrupted for 30 seconds by an adult channel.

Cable is a whole 'nother story; the Max Headroom incident was the result of someone using a broadcast signal stronger than those of WGN and WTTW.

I would assume that the Comcrap incident was internal. If you have enough power it is possible to override satellite transmissions (see the Captain Midnight HBO incident), but I have no clue if it's even possible with cable.
