I've seen them too. In the mountains of North Carolina, where I used to live. I called them 'Spider-Crickets' too...

some people call them mole crickets or spider crickets but what they are camel cricket from japan and your right they arent supposed to be in america. in new jersey they are everywhere now cuz they eat rotting leaves and nj is nothing but trees. since nothing eats them around here they just keep increasing in numbers and size too they have at least doubled in size and they were never small to begin with so.
