Mario Forever - 4a - I got lost!

So, ever since I start playing this thing, someone has been bugging me about finding this place called 'Mushroom Plague' to help me out, since it's a big one-up opporunity. All he told me was that missed it as soon as I start playing, so since everyone has been telling me that there are stuff around the selection screen I ought to look around.

I didn't find Mushroom Plague, but I did end up attempting this.
