I got turtled while crossing Chesapeake Bay, MD. I had many self rescue practice with the sail mounted on the kayak. But this was the first real self-rescue while kayak sailing\trolling.

  • Excellent video. Made me realize the importance of practicing self rescue before the poop hits the fan. important video to say the least stressing self rescue, being prepaired beforehand.

It is very important to me. I practce self-rescue often. It is odd that I always got tipped over in calm water because I did't pay attention to what I was doing.

  • nice vid good job with being calm and not panicing sucks to get turtled

  • Nice work not panicing and getting back into the yak. Best video yet man, it's priceless for others to see EXACTLY what happens during a turtle, and the proper way to react.

I did the same early shad season on the James this year and lost 4 rods and reels, one of which was a Sage 5wt 3 piece fly rod. OUCH. We're okay though, that's all that matters.

Nice floating tackle shop you got there.
