@chub1236 I have to disagree... You meant to say J. "The Gay" Baldwin was one of the greastest intellectuals produced in the latter half of the 20th century... Dont forget about Malcolm X, MLK, RFK...

Malcolm X was in a league of his own !!!!!

Sorry Mr. Baldwin, all due respect, but African Americans are NOT desecndants or slaves. Slavery is only a fractional part of our history, and we do indeed have to deal with that fraction, but there is another 2,000 to 3,000 years of history in our blood that should also be acknowledged.
400 years in America does not need to receive all the credit for African Americans being, for 400 years is a tear drop in an ocean.

all black men need to listen to this... this should be in schools.. whites should hear it to in order to help them not repeat bad history.. GREAT VIDEOS
you miss the point entirely; slavery, in this country, defines the relationship of africans with whites. Without acknowledging that failure of the Republic (the vestiges of which exist to this day), the INVENTION of the black man, or OTHER, and the exploitations that accrues from it, the COUNTRY cannot move forward, not just black people. mr. baldwin was the greatest intellectual this country produced in the latter half of the 20th century. if u disagree, i'd suggest u reconsider your position

James Baldwin and Malcolm X are two of the greatest intellects in American History. My favorite happen to be Malcolm X but it's clear that they both respect one another greatly here in this debate and see pros and cons of each others view. Nonetheless still a great vid post. Thank you.
