Careful not to damage your test equipment! Is that a monostable square wave you're feeding to the inductor? What was the final peak-to-peak voltage? What is meant by "one end only"?

One end only means hooked up only to one lead (not the ground) of the pulsing circuit, read up on finding resonance of tesla coil secondary, you will find this method. Peak to peak voltage is not found like this since the scope probe is just near the solenoid not connected.

Are you saying the LC circuit is acting as a single layer solenoid?? This seems to indicate that pulsed DC is more "adjustable" then AC. This would seem to indicate that the oscillations that occur durring spark-gap discharge (or other LC discharge) allow for complete control of the output. Or am I all wet?

I'm saying that even a solenoid has capacitance and inductance,and therefore can be an LC.
