Obama said that he was against military tribunals, but now he is trying to bring them back. Now he has proven that he shares many of Bush's policies, but where's the criticism. This is the Left's hypocrisy at its greatest.

When have we ever compared Obama to a terrorist? Give me a specific example... And don't you dare cite what Sarah Palin said because she was NOT comparing him to a terrorist, but was merely pointing out that he has shady associations with people. In fact, that's one of very few examples in the campaign when I ever heard the words "Obama" and "terrorist" in the same sentence!

Well, of course we're upset about it! We've been saying all this time that we are right about national security, yet we face enormous criticism from the Left. Then Obama follows in our footsteps and is praised for his great wisdom. Of course we are pissed off! We're attacking him for continuing to criticize Bush while he is blatantly beginning to start acting a lot like Bush! If he admits that he was wrong to draw conclusions about national security, maybe we'll cut him some slack!

resinate: There has always been debate between whether it's better to risk letting a criminal go free...or risk jailing an innocent man.

In the US we've gone waaaaay overboard toward protecting the rights of the accused; better to let MANY criminals go free than risk jailing one innocent man. So...don't worry about the gulag coming to the US...ain't gonna happen.

Didn't answer my question though, did you? Why no sympathy for the victims? IMO the Left doesn't care about them.

This is so typical of Democrats. They've always been focused on protecting the rights of alleged criminals. They go overboard to ensure defendents get every advantage and would let 100 criminals go free rather than risk convicting one innocent man.

What I can't figure out is their lack of concern for the victims.

IMO it's because the Left sees victims as supporters of "the system" and romanticizes criminals as fighters against the system (e.g. capitalism, racism, etc.).
