I am not Deaf, only an ASL student who is passionate about the Deaf Community and learning the language. This was my first ASL video, it is very literal and some of my sign concepts are incorrect. If you watch my latest videos you will see my signs more focused on the meaning. This song belongs to Kesha and Sony Entertainment.

  • @drwoot The "y" handshape is similar to the sign play which is made with a "y" handshape, so the "p" handshake is often used instead... I don't believe it is necessarily a dialect thing, but more like a preference

  • soo cool

  • I just started learning ASL a few months ago, so I can't speak with any authority-- but were you taught to sign party with a P handshape? My teacher hates most initialized signs, and the deaf community around me uses a Y handshape. I'm not criticizing, I'm just interested in whether or not it's a local dialect thing! I'm from Georgia if it makes any difference.
