  • I love Scott Joplin's ragtime music! The turn-of-the-century period is one of my favorite eras. Thanks for this video. I wish these fashions could come back! The women wore beautiful clothes

  • dear Sarmux,

I'm writing a research paper of Fashion styles of WWI and WWII. Your video has amazing images that are exactly what Im looking for. Could you please give me the sources where you found these images from? I would greatly appreciate it!

  • en algunos dibujos las mujeres se ven un poco deformes, jeje, la persepcion de lo q es un cuerpo bonito a cambiado con el tiempo

  • In 1901, when Anna Taylor went over Niagara Falls in a barrel, and Carry Nation sold miniature hatchets in the Senate gallery, the "Gibson Girl" saw these revolutionary gestures as what they were - symptons of neurosis and impendind decline.

  • "Gibson Girl" had dignity, a quality woman. She read dignified historical novels like "To Have and To Hold" and "When Knighthood Was in Flower". She was an aristocrat and a stickler for gallant behavior. Her appearance was proud and haughty, suggesting that she was a prize worth make some effort to win. Her clothing covered her from neck to heels but without any suggestion of puritanism, Gibson Girl had no stomach at all.

  • @MastersoftheOpera loll it still exist just not in that way just more punk rockish

  • @VickyDoll68 If you are at all near the Seattle, WA area, we'd love to hook up with you! I belong to a historical costuming group called Somewhere in Time, Unlimited which is based in Seattle, WA USA. We DO dress like this and other eras as well. 1912 is the Centennial Celebration of the mighty Titanic, so you will see many more reenactors wearing this fashion!
