@Boleyn96019 Women of that era were forced to live through the hypocrisy laws of men. To submit to his ruling tt their years of marriage was unlawful was the FINAL straw for Katherine. She had to defend her honour & Mary's. She knew that Kings are capable of breaking their promises the moment they get what they wanted and things are never that simple with a man of Henry VIII's character.

She will always be remembered for her truthful words.. by the words she really said.. we can really indicate what women she really was.. and PLEASE dont blame Katherine that her daughter did not become a successfull monarch.. it is not katherine's fault. Katherine had all the aspects of a great true QUEEN of any dominion.

@DramaInPajamas one reason. He wanted a son. The last time a woman inherited the English throne (Empress Matilda), it started a civil war. It was believed (and since proven to be wrong many times over) that women weren't capable of ruling. So when it became clear that KofA was past childbearing age, Henry looked at his Bible and found his excuse to divorce her. He thought (or wanted to think) that KofA lied to him about being a virgin when she married him.

If henry thoguht it was icky that he married his brother's wife, why didn't it bother him for 20 years?

Also the Pope dipensed with it so there was no problem. Also his father was to blame. After Arthur died, their father didn't want to give the dowry back to KofA's father so he arranged for her to marry his next son. It wasn't her fault she did as she was told. Henry didn't seem to have a problem marrying Anne even though he'd fucked her sister, mary. What a hypocrite.

She is by FAR the best wife. If Anne hadn't gotten her head chopped off and if Elizabeth hadn't become Queen, nobody would give her the time of day. Elizabeth's greatness had nothing to do with Anne. Anne wasn't very nice, to be honest.

I don´t understand how can anyone put Anne before Catherine in any shape of form. Catherine is a true royal, born and raced. Anne was the daughter of a nobody hungry for power;. she was selfish, mean and classless. I don´t get why she is more regarded than Catherine
