@braduh1 Correction, if they have the patient has been prep or not, not there condition
-
Yes, dependning on the persons condition, they either land hot, or shut it down, depending on the person condition. The landing zone has to be 100x100. The LZ also has to be cleared of power lines and such. If there is dust or F.O.D the fire company must hose it down, that way it dont get sucked up in the turbines. One last thing, that is a spot light. How do I know all of this, I was a fire fighter for 3 yrs, and I know somebody who worked on life flights

@tedhansenx my guess is she's in rough shape if they're bringing in a helicoptor and she hit a tree. HOPEFULLY I'm wrong

Hope she is well.
About 15 years ago, I lived by an busy intersection and a Trans Am was going fast and ended up on its side against a telephone pole. The rescue helicopter landed right in the street, which was a 2 lane going each way, plus a middle turn lane. The chopper was huge, and to this day, I don't know how the pilot landed where he did and not take out the power lines. Today they changed the protocol. They land in a parking lot and transfer the patient by ambulance.
I am the girl who was in this accident. I am doing well, back to work full time with only minor issues now.
My iron level dropped which caused me to pass out while riding. Luckily I was going slow and had all the right gear on.
Thank you to each and every one of you who did an amazing job and saved my life that day. I will always be very grateful for everything you all did!!
