I saw the band sometime in the 80's at the Trade Union Club. I still remember a chaotic booze filled night of madness.

Funny, I don't remember there being much crossover between the X and Birdman crowds. The Birdman fans were mostly into Detroit hard rock which X were not. The British influences that Steve mentions weren't that noticeable in their own music. They weren't much like anyone really. They were original.

Steve was saying that band members of Birdman used to see them at the Unicorn and I remember that as well. Their music certainly is original but everyone has influences of one kind or another. I am very interested in influences, whether they come across in music might be another thing, as you mention.

Hi Cazzam, I guess what I meant was that Steve seems to imply that the Birdman crowd moved over to X after Birdman folded. Maybe some did but I knew a lot of Birdman people and none of them were interested in X.

I was one of the people who liked both. Cheers C

Me too! I also followed the Lipstick Killers, The Other Side, Passengers, Hitmen et al. By the way, I must say how grateful I am for all your posts. I'm truly in your debt.
