  • I like the video and was wondering should I get this cam? I'm only 12 so I don't need it to be "professional." All I will really use it for is trampoline backflips in slowmotion and stupid stuff like that. Lol

  • @Tybobb45

As it turns out, this camera was specifically designed for slow motion trampoline jumps. There is no other camera out there that can perform this task.

I highly recommend that you buy this camera only.

  • i use WMM for this camcorder but when i upload vids to youtube it only goes to 480p

im thinking i should use a mac or sony vegas to edit my vids

  • @Aspenfash899

Haven't used WMM before but i would be guessing that it can't handle anything bigger than 480p or you haven't tweaked the output settings ( if it even has any ) to export as 1920x1080.

Sony Vegas and the Mac video editors are excellent programs for this type of result.

  • I just bought this camera, it does record in slow mo, but loses the pristine quality in lower light, however it is still cool as hell! No Night vision, but i guess you could record a golf swing using this if you do it fast, its kind of tricky with the 3 second only thing.... great HD camcorder though.

Have you tried the record 3 seconds prior to pressing the record button function?

You just copy the files across using a USB cable. The camera should just show up like an external drive. You can then use programs like Premiere Pro / Sony Vegas / Cinelerra / Kino / Windows Movie Maker etc... to edit the footage to your liking.

However, iv you like doing old school linear editing, you can use the half moon adapter to transfer the footage straight to DVD. But i wouldn't recommend that given that you will waste all of that beautiful HD footage.

  • So how do HD cameras work? Do you have to have a certain cable to upload the video onto the computer? Or could you just use the standard one and record off 1920x1080? My camera gets here on monday or tuesday and I would like to know how to use it before I mess it up :)

  • i have that same exact bowl lol and camera!!!!!!!!!

  • Yeah, AVCHD utilizes the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 (AVC) video compression codec/container, & as far as i can tell, the CX-100 shoots interlaced video. So to be fair, i would say this is shot in 1080i. But it still maintains the 1920x1080 square pixel ratio.

AVC is a real pain, i hate it. It's just another proprietary format that hinders progress. After i pulled this from the camera i probably exported it in CS4 Premiere Pro, that would have stripped the AVC and Utube would have encoded it from there.
