Chrono Trigger - Dual Character Low Level Challenge - Frog vs Magus

Frog faces Magus is an epic battle to avenge Cyrus. However, this battle is nowhere near as epic as the first one. In the first part of the battle, when he's got more than 50% HP left, he only uses his weak physical attack. Nothing to worry about. With less than 50% HP left, he starts casting level 2 magic spells and gets a huge speed boost. This part requires a Barrier, or you're doomed. Frog absorbs Fire and takes half damage from Lightning, but Ice deals full damage. I turned the battle speed all the way up for the Barrier to last as long as possible, and it almost lasted the whole battle. When it ran out, I was lucky he didn't use Ice, as that would have ended the battle. Nailed this one on my first attempt.

I'm gonna slowly continue this challenge now, and I sure hope it gets harder soon, because pretty much everything after the Magus battle has been a joke.

No, this was an old file I kept just to fight him. I'm way past this with Magus in my party now.

I've never seen it Miss either! I've never seen -any- standard physical tech miss. I didn't even think they could! So seeing that miss animation for the first time was surprising.

And I've used Leap Slash pretty extensively, myself, but never at levels (far?) too low for the current area, so...

V is 5, and I is 1. Just remember there's a "v" in "five", and "I" looks like a 1.
