Tribute to the most beautiful people on this earth and German director Werner Herzog.
Considering multiple remarks on the music: the song is Ave Maria and it was sung in 1904 by the last castrato (!) of the Vatican: Alessandro Moreschi. Werner Herzog himself edited this lyric over the images of the Wodaabe (so do not blame uploader), probably as an ironic reference to their androgynous (sic) resemblance.

  • The wodaabe actively reject modernization, they believe their culture is a gift from their ancestors. They also have no interest in settling down in agriculture , they prefer the freedom of a nomadic lifestyle. That is what makes them far more interesting than those who have abandoned their culture. People assume that everyone wants this bullshit society were people are so unhappy and sexually repressed, the wodaabe know how to really enjoy life.

  • Though I have no problem with the Woodaabe..they are a minority sub-group numbering 150000 out of 20 - 30 million fulani people..I don't know why the media focuses on them... They seem to only want to show either poor fulani or wodaabes..not the regular fulani who live in cities, drive cars, own houses and businesses

  • hey the narrators voice was in boondocks!

  • @shaqlal9 - these are not the Fulani that are mixed. They look just like they appear in their ancient Saharan rock art. Most Berber-speakers are mixed with Vandals, Romans and European slaves.
