This show was made in Australia. Australia is one of the most multi-cultural countries in the world so most Australians judge a person on their character, not the colour of their skin, as we are all different. It's not a big deal or an insult to dress up as someone else when you consider everybody to be equal.

How embarassing, my son put this old video on and made some cheeky comments, but I assure the people who have made other comments, that nothing about it was meant to offend. I am a huge fan of Aretha Franklin, and no-one has more respect for her, and the contributions of African-Americans to western culture and music. Adopting Aretha's iconic character was a compliment to her greatness!

I don't know if in the UK it's customary to paint a white womans' face brown, but in the U.S.A it's disrespectful and pathetic. (that broad doesn't even have a good voice - for cryin out loud!!)
