Gopalan is no ace. Speaks poorly, repeating...thats probably how he makes money. He is talking loads of rubbish, out of sync with whats happening in Singapore. All his own suspicion and living in his own capsule in California. Not even clear about the facts. Lawyers are supposed to be figuratively correct! No credibility in what he is speaking about.
It is difficult for an outsider like me to really understand what it is like for someone to stand for election in Singapore if he is not running for the PAP.
I extend sympathy to Singapore people of conscience, whether they are in the country or not. Be strong and do what you can to force Singapore along the path to being a place that actually embraces democracy and democratic institutions. It must be a terrible thing to face jail and financial ruin for speaking out.
For the benefit of those who may be misled by this man, let me name some lawyers who are bravely standing for the opposition. Chen Shao Mao and Jeanette Chong Aruldoss are lawyers. Chiam See Tong and Teo Soh Lung are retired lawyers. Sylvia Lim is a legal lecturer. Pritam Singh is a postgraduate law student.
Thank you for your insight, Mr Nair. It seems weird to me no opposition party actually strongly oppose a hideous crime against humanity, conscription, that is still going on in singapore. That is a huge problem. & majority of the folks here have been brainwashed into thinking that conscription is needed. They can't seem to tell that slavery is always evil.
