F.J. Haydn cantata: Arianna a Naxos
Vesselina Kasarova (mezzo soprano)
Charles Spencer (piano)
Beethovenfest 2004. Bonn, Germany
Arianna (Ariadne) breaks her marriage with Dionysus to take up with Teseo (Theseus) and helps him escape from the labyrinth with her ball of yarn.... only to be abandoned by him on the isle of Naxos.
Shoulda let him be eaten by the Minotaur, shouldn't she?
I don't understand why I was registered as a "doesn't like". On the contrary I love this splendid interpretation of a great mini-drama, and in the original version with its fresh and immediate piano accompaniment.

Hallo Smorgy,
Very peaceful music. Vesselina shows her beautiful voice, here again. And last not least, you have composed a meaningful diversified video
around this masterpiece.
Sometimes I had the impression she sings in German but I wouldn't dare to wager. It is probably in pigin Italian.
