The ice festival itself is fantastic, but the process of transforming a city with a tormenting climate and distant location which is not somewhere most ppl want to live in, to a internationally known tourist location by utilizing the most adversing climate is definitely a miracle.

I myself come from Harbin, the ice world is getting huge, I was there in 2005 it's simply amazing to see. Living in Ottawa Canada now, you just don't see the things in the same scale

Sorry, we cannot remember the name of the hotel. Yes, we had a guide. The trip was arranged by Classic Travel in Shanghai and included air, hotel and guide.
